Website storage and spam protection

Spher does not add its own analytics or advertising cookies. Browser storage remembers that you have read this notice. Google's spam protection is described below.

What cookies and browser storage are

Cookies and similar browser storage can save information on your device so a website can remember a setting or provide a requested feature. Some storage needs consent. Storage that is strictly necessary for a service you request does not.

Necessary storage used by Spher

When you choose a website language, Spher remembers it in first-party local storage until you clear site data. A dismissed language suggestion is also remembered for the browser session. Suggestions use your browser language and, when that is unsupported, an approximate country hint supplied by our hosting service. No precise location permission is requested.

Google Search Console

Spher uses Google Search Console to understand how the website appears in Google Search and to identify indexing or search-performance issues. Search Console does not add visitor analytics cookies to the Spher website.

Contact and newsletter forms

Our contact and newsletter forms send the information you choose to submit to Spher through our own website endpoints and our WordPress Fluent Forms setup. The forms do not submit anything until you actively send them.

Newsletter consent is separate from cookie consent. The newsletter form asks you to agree before subscribing. Read our Privacy Policy for information about how submitted personal data is handled.

Google reCAPTCHA on Stories forms

On a Stories form, Google reCAPTCHA loads only after you choose to activate spam protection. Google may process technical connection and browser information and use cookies, including its _GRECAPTCHA security cookie. The check runs again when you send.

Our server sends Google the verification token, not your story or document. See Google Privacy Policy and Google Terms of Service. You can read the invitation without activating this service.

How to remove the saved acknowledgement

You can remove the saved acknowledgement by clearing site data for spher.app in your browser settings. The cookie information window may then appear again.

If our website changes

If Spher later adds optional analytics, advertising, embedded media or another service that requires consent, we will update this policy and ask for a clear choice before that technology is activated.
